Still Loved in the Waiting
Valentine’s Day has come and gone. And while it wasn’t on my heart to send anything at the time, I felt that nudge the day after to send you this reminder: you are loved… right now.
Not when you get out of debt.
Not when you get a better job.
Not when you dress fancier, connect to the right people, or get the relationship.
Right here, right now, flaws and all, you are loved. You are. You always will be.
I know that can be hard to hear when you have real, tangible desires. I know you don’t need another reminder about timing being right. How you feel is real, and you’re allowed to be upset. But when you’re done crying about it, punching your pillow, or even screaming at God, the truth remains: you are loved by your Creator. I know this because your story isn’t over.
What If “Unchosen” Isn’t the End of the Story?
Feeling unchosen can make you question your worth.
It whispers:
“Maybe you’re not enough.”
“Maybe you were overlooked.”
“Maybe everyone else is more valuable.”
But feelings are not always truth.
Because the deeper, steadier truth is this:
Your worth was never determined by who picked you on earth.
Not a relationship.
Not a job.
Not an opportunity.
Not a timeline.
Your worth was decided long before any of those things existed.
And even when life feels silent…
even when doors stay closed…
even when the waiting stretches longer than expected…
You are still seen.
Still known.
Still deeply loved.
A Softer Way to Heal
Healing from the feeling of being unchosen doesn’t start with forcing positivity.
It starts with gentleness.
It looks like:
Letting yourself admit the disappointment
Talking honestly with God instead of performing for Him
Releasing comparison little by little
Allowing love to reach you where you are (not where you wish you were)
And sometimes, healing is as simple as this:
Sitting in God’s presence without trying to explain your feelings…
and letting His quiet love hold what hurts.
No rushing.
No pretending.
No pressure to be okay too quickly.
Just presence.
You Are Not Forgotten
If you feel unchosen right now, I want you to hear this:
This season is not proof that you are unseen.
This silence is not proof that you are unloved.
This waiting is not proof that your story is over.
Some chapters feel quiet…
but quiet is not the same as abandoned.
God is still writing.
Still working.
Still near.
And even here you are held in His arms.
A Gentle Invitation
So instead of trying to solve everything today, try this:
Bring God your real feelings.
Not the edited version.
Not the strong version.
Just the true one.
Then sit.
Breathe.
Let yourself be loved in the middle of the unanswered questions.
Because being chosen by the world may come and go… but being loved by God is constant.
And little by little, that love has a way of healing the places that feel unchosen. When everything else wants you to believe otherwise, that’s the truth you hold close.
Ephesians 1:4
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
